Exploring London

Despite being almost completely destroyed in the Great Fire, London is
widely renowned as being one of the most important cities in the financial
world. As well as this it has the oldest underground in the world which
is over hundred and 40 years old. London is the capital city of the
United Kingdom and is one of the largest cities in Europe. In fact,
London measures over 600 square miles in area.

There are over 7 million people living in the city of London. They come
from a varied ethnic culture and speak a wide variety of languages.
London is in the south of the UK which tends to get a lot warmer weather
than up in the North. The city really does have something to offer for
everyone whether you are seeking work or just want to enjoy some of the
varied attractions that it has to offer.

London has an underground system called the tube, which can take you to
almost any destination in the city within just a few minutes. This is how
the majority of people travel in London as the traffic can be very busy
almost all day long. Prices on the tube are very reasonable and will save
you a lot of time by trying to travel by road.

Surprisingly there are a lot of green areas in the city of London and it
is not all residential and commercial buildings. Hyde Park and Regent
Park are two of the largest areas of greenery in the city and can make a
great setting for a picnic or simply just a way to escape the hustle and
bustle. Of course you couldn't visit London without taking a ride in one
of the many hundreds of London taxis, where the taxi driver would normally
tell you of someone famous that they had in their taxi the night before.
Taxi drivers know the quickest routes around the city and where to avoid
at peak times, so this is quite often your quickest way of travelling to
your destination. If you have a bit more time to spare, then a scenic
trip on one of the famous London double-decker buses can make for great
bit of sightseeing.
